The region carries some of the world’s heaviest burden of diabetes and diabetic foot disease. Yet podiatry is still a young profession in many of its countries, with training, licensing and career paths developing at very different speeds. Practitioners often work in small teams, far from the professional networks their peers in Europe, North America and Australia take for granted.
